A Place to Feel at Home
You don’t have to live in Brasilia long to discover that the bridges are critical to getting where you want to go. As a community of faith we want to serve as a bridge- helping people get where they desire to be relationally, spiritually, emotionally. It doesn’t matter which nation, culture or denomination you might be from, we want to make you feel at home.
Our Beliefs
The Basics
We believe in one God who is three persons: Father, the son Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit. God alone is good.
Created to know God and make Him known, our sins are forgiven through the perfect life and sacrifice of Jesus Christ.
He made a way for us to know God by his death on a cross, and his resurrection from death three days later.
Forgiveness, freedom, and “forever” with God in heaven, comes through faith in Christ.
God’s Holy Spirit and the Bible lead us, His Church, to fulfill the most important command: loving God and loving others.

Our Story
Bridges began in 1973, when Fred & Gerry Williams moved from the United States, with a vision to begin an English-speaking church in Brazil’s capital. The heart of the church has always been to serve the international, and English speaking community of Brasilia.
Today, God has gathered hundreds of people from some 40 nations to worship at Bridges. In 2019 God miraculously provided the church property, and led Bridges to build a new worship center and facilities to serve generations to come. (Expected completion- December 2021.) We are grateful for all God has done, and excited about all He is going to do!
Many people and pastors have come and gone over the years, and yet the church has remained. In 2013, current pastor Dave Bollenbacher and wife Sharon came to Brasilia asking the question: “God what could you do?”
Our Values
God’s Glory
An image reflects a reality. Since we are created in God’s image, we are created to reflect Him. We desire to worship God with our lips and our lives.
Loving Well
Jesus said, above all else, LOVE! Loving as God loves, is often more about motion than emotion. Loving well means, caring, serving, giving, and forgiving.
Authentic Community
God did not like the thought of us living alone- he created us for community. At Bridges we want to know you and be known by you.
Life Change
Nobody is perfect at Bridges, but with the help of God’s Spirit, we want to strive to become more like Jesus- individually and together as a community of faith.
God’s Word
The Bible is a revelation of who God is, and who he desires us to be. Practicing God’s Word leads us to live, love and look different in this world.
